shortages in the area. Alberta has a vast oil industry which requires many different types of skilled

British Columbia (BCNP):
British Columbia (BCPNP) focuses on many diverse areas of employment. It focuses highly on
technology based programs as well as on trades and skilled workers. In this program the employer
must demonstrate the shortage in their industry in order to receive approval from BCPNP and Service
Canada.
Some of these programs include immigration opportunities for; health professions, midwifes,
construction workers, drivers, international students and other professional workers.
There are also vast opportunities for business immigrants. There are three different business classes;
Business Skills; Regional Business and Projects. All three are distinctively different programs for

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program:
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MNP) has one of the most diverse programs in Canada. This
program has more than seven different streams in which an individual can immigrate to Canada.

from.
There are also immigration opportunities for farmers, investors, business immigrants, skilled workers.
Manitoba PNP is the only provincial program that has a family and community support program.

New Brunswick Nominee Program is a program which offers immigration to individuals with genuine job
offers. In addition this program is offered to business immigrants who wish to invest in New Brunswick’s
diverse market.
Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program:
Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program seeks to recruit immigrants who have
specialized occupational or entrepreneurial skills. Newfoundland’s business and Immigrant Partner
program allows business immigrants to invest and start new businesses in Newfoundland and
Labrador’s vast market.
Applicants submitting an application in this category will be required to have a bona fide offer of paid
employment, at prevailing market rates from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer. The applicant
may also be required to visit Newfoundland and Labrador for a pre-employment interview with the
employer.
Nova Scotia (NSNP):
Nova Scotia became a part of the provincial nominee program in 2002, since then they have successfully
issued more than 560 provincial certificates for the first quarter of 2006. Nova Scotia has a vast variety of
programs, most of which focus on satisfying employer based needs. The Nova Scotia investor program
is unique and different from all other investor programs in Canada

The province of Ontario is in the early stages of developing it's Provincial Immigration Program and has
just announced it's Pilot program.
Prince Edward Island Nominee Program:
Prince Edward Island Nominee Program is a series of programs that deal with the settlement of
immigrants through the skilled worker, investor and entrepreneur classes. This provincial program is
quite similar to the federal government's programs.

Program
Business Incentive Policies: the Government of Yukon pays cash rebates to contractors working on
eligible government contracts as incentive to hire Yukon residents and to use Yukon manufactured
products when delivering contract requirements. Labour rebates are eligible only on those contracts
where the initial award value is $100,000 or more.

market shortages. PNP is a contract between the provinces and the federal government.
