The requirements and the documents needed for individuals entering Canada under GATS, NAFTA, and IRPR General
Provisions are basically the same, other than the citizenship, temporary resident visa and work permit requirements and
duration of their stay in Canada. They are all Services Canada - HRSDC confirmation exempt, but require a work permit

NAFTA is an agreement between Canada, United States and Mexico. This agreement allows professionals, skilled workers
and labourers to work in Canada without the hassle of gaining an approval from Services Canada, however a work permit is
required.

Individuals applying under this category must be the citizens of US (citizens of  District of Columbia and Puerto Rico are
covered but not the citizens of Guam, the Northern Mariana islands, American Samoa and United States Virgin Islands) or
Mexico.  Application for Work Permits can be made at the Port of Entry or at a visa post in US or Mexico.

Note: NAFTA does not assist permanent admission or extend special privileges to spouses and members of the family.

GATS: under this agreement the individual must possess citizenship of a member nation, or the right of permanent residence
in Australia or New Zealand. They are HRSDC confirmation exempt, but require a work permit and may obtain it either at a
Canadian visa office or at a Port of Entry, only if they are exempt from the requirement of a passport visa.

CCFTA: is applicable to citizens of Chile, they are Services Canada confirmation exempt, but require a work permit. Since Chile
is not a visa exempt country, work permit must be applied at the applicable visa post.

General Provisions: is applicable to citizens of all countries. They are Services Canada confirmation exempt, but require a
work permit and may obtain it either at a Canadian visa office or at a Port of entry, if they are exempt from the requirement of
passport visa.
